Commercial Exectution

After class on Nov. 5th, where we presented our executed commercials, it was interesting to see different interpretations of an Oreo commercials. All of the groups had different versions, but they all formed around the effect of nostalgia!

GROUPS PROCESS:

Brooke, Evelyn, and Gretchen:

  • This group did a great job in connecting Nostalgia throughout different points of granddaughter and her grandmothers relationship. I also saw a little classical conditioning in this commercial, because Oreo's became an automatic reward/cheer-up snack in this family.
Tori, Mia, and Dave:
  • This group did a great job connecting Nostalgia as a reward. They connected the two girls winning their soccer game to the fathers childhood, and how he use to get Oreos as a reward.
Katie, Baptice, and Stephanie:
  • This group did a great job connecting the stressed out college girl, and how she always loved enjoying Oreos as a treat. Then you see her remembering when use to have Oreos as a little kid, and how life didn't seem all that stressful when she was remembering the joyful time.

Commercial Process:

As a whole, I thought we all understood what the Brand's Inner layer is trying to perceive. Even though we are not all film directors, we got to see the challenges that appear when trying to execute a vision in your head. It was difficult to try and connect your emotion with those acting and those viewing.
